  • daddyg,
Welcome aboard, you’ve just added BBQ capability to you’re grilling expertise – pulled pork, brisket and ribs are now possible (okay, ribs were possible before, but not the same way, you’ll see).
Based on my own experience I must add my condolences on the early retirement of two perfectly good gas grills ( I admittedly only retired one in this process). Grin.[p]Which egg is coming to live you (lg, med…)?

    daddyg,
Have to echo Pivotizer's sentiments...I've used my Weber Genesis only once since I got my BGE.[p]I live in one of those cities where trash pickup is only from one standardized can that a truck automatically picks up and dumps. Tonight is a very exciting night for me in that, this is one of two nights per year that we get unlimited "overflow" trash pickup...Ironically, my Brinkman water smoker is sitting out on the curb as I speak.

daddyg,[p]For good startup information, visit Tim M's and the Naked Whiz's website. They both have a wealth of great information.[p]TRex[p]www.nakedwhiz.com/bge

pivotizer, I am getting the large one. Naieve as it sounds, I didn't know that much about one when I bought it. I recall reading about the BGE recently in some mens magazine but never thought I'd ever see one up here. So I was shocked when I found one on display in a distant, small-town fireplace store last week!![p]By what I have read, this is going to take my beloved bbq skills to another level!

  • daddyg,
Welcome, Not sure if you have an 'indedendent grocery store in your area. I just picked up 3 Butt roasts for $.99 /lb. This is a great price for us. I'm in the Ottawa area..[p]You will love your egg.. Paul

  • daddyg,Naieve is not the term to use. Experiencing a new cooking technoloy sounds better. I,ve had my large, thanks to my wife, daughters, and son-in-law,for about 5 months. Read here, work on maintaining temps, start having fun,and enjoy a great way to cook. Most people,as you say, start out not knowing a lot about egg cooking but they soon find out.Like any cooker you have to learn it and the learnig here is fun. Good Luck, Good Times,& Good Food.
