Royal Oak at RD from Argentina

I called RO, sent in my proof of purchase on each bag and they sent me my money back.

I rather use Cowboy at 11 bucks for 20lbs. Used RO once from RD and didn't like it. The american stuff from Walmart is good.
-
It's a waste of 6 bucks.

All I have used it BGE brand lump or Cowboy and I have had no complaints with either. In a rush since I was out of lump, I ran by walmart last night and bought my first bag of RO (10# for $6). It appears to be the american stuff. I hope I have better luck than y'all b/c I am too cheap to throw away a new bag of charcoal!

The Naked Whiz wrote:I'm not sure why everyone sees all the sparking and grit when I didn't see it at all in my review of the Argentina Royal Oak. It was the Paraguay Royal Oak that I found to be sparky and gritty. I'd buy one bag and see how it does and go from there.
oddly enough the RO paraguayan stuff I've been getting is pretty damned good. I've done about 60lbs of it so far this summer. It's not at ALL sparky, ashy, and the pieces arent all dust or chips.
Going by what i've seen on the argentine stuff (with pix, so it definately happened) i wouldnt buy it -
I've been lighting mine up in a fire pit and letting my kids roast marshmallows with it. It reminds me of the 4th of July with all of the sparks.

The American stuff is fine.
