    It might as well be a gift if you're loaning money to someone unless you're a pimp or other various people that would shoot or kill you if you don't pay it back.  

    Not saying I will not help someone out though, but not just freely giving loot out.

    So happened that it was April, 2004 when the $10K plus interest was due in full per the now worthless detailed promissory note both Dave & Carolyn signed. He then dropped off the forum forever.  I later discovered they had skipped to WY at that time. While half of the money lost rightfully belonged to my wife she has been an angel about it and has never once brought it up in anger! We really thought we were helping them re-establish an ag spraying business which Dave had done quite well with here in Illinois. But in hindsight there are other steps I could have and should have taken to protect us.
