Saving the Gasket, extend the life of your egg

I was talking to Poot (Pork Butt Mike) and Car Wash Mike and they told me the most eggcellent advice: To preserve your egg use the old webber to light the coals and then transfer them one by one to the Egg once they are ready. Then there's no forgetting the Egg while it comes to temperature and no chance of toasting your gasket.
Enjoy

Hey Doug,if Pork Butt Mike and Carwash mike say it,it must be true :woohoo: I guess that I need to buy a weber :pinch:
-
little eggsperince. This might be good for newbies like GTIPROD. He seems to be having trouble with his gasket. Hope this helps. Nice Doug!
Mike -
Doug you got it wrong, you don't have to transfer the lump one by one, just use a shovel and do it as quick as possible. The life of your gasket will last a lot longer, and it will preserve the life of your Egg.

Damn,,, and I just tossed mine
-
That has to be the worst, most ridiculous advice I've ever seen on this forum, or anywhere else!!! I know poot doesn't drink, but, they both sound like they were sloshed!! Disregard this advice, immediately!!

Preserve the life of your EGG!!!! Give me a break here, Michael!! Surely you jest!!??
-
Hey John, I started my scotch again. It just makes sense. :woohoo:
-
So then I SHOULD turn my webber into an herb garden?
-
In that case you're excused this time, buddy!! Lookin' forward to seeing ya'll next month for the mini fest.........
-
If'n it hasn't rusted out too much!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
-
Can't wait John, so happy you and Joan are coming down. Really looking forward to it.
-
How long will it take to do this?
-
Hey John, they have been catching a lot of whiting in the surf last week
-
Whiting are fun and would be great on the egg!! I'm expecting some expert guiding from you experts!!
-
This of course only in fun, and the only people who should use this technique is the two professionals that came up with this. So don't do this at your home.
Doug -
Two professionals??!! :woohoo: :woohoo: And, they would be........????
-
The only question is professional what? :woohoo:  :S
-
You get 3 guesses John and the first 2 don't count
-
egret, I have to say your comment above "That has to be the worst, most ridiculous advice I've ever seen on this forum, or anywhere else!" was Awesome. Thanks for providing the good reading for the evening. Although Im rather sure somebody is putting someone on here, it could be applicable around these parts sometimes.

just light the lump in the egg and set the daisy on top half open. it won't take any longer to light, AND it won't run away from you if you forget to pay attention to ited egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante
