Hey folks give this a whirl....
Try this next time instead of the same ole hotdog or hamburger. Very easy. We call em wiener-dogs. Been eating these for years, they are great. Last weekend adapted this grilling recipe to the BGE. They were awesome! Enjoy! [p]Here goes:[p]Take a 1/4 lb hamburger patty, wrap it around a hot dog.(I use the bun length hot dog. It should be shaped like a torpedo, thickest in the middle with both ends of the hot dog showing-not being covered with hamburger meat. Then wrap a strip of bacon all the way around and secure with 1/2 toothpick on each end. Season as desired. I sprinkle lightly with Tony Cacheries Cajun Seasoning. Hot dog flavor blends perfectly with the burger.
325-350 degrees with a raised grill and drip pan. Turn once 1/2 way
through cooking. Mine were perfectly done in about 50 minutes. Cook until bacon is completely done-not floppy but good and done-at that point the hamburger is cooked all the way through. During the last 5-10 minutes of cooking lightly coat with your favorite BBque sauce or leave w/o sauce. Serve on regular fresh hot dog buns. I used a couple chunks of hickory for a nice smoke taste but that is optional.
This is a great variation from a regular hot dog/hamburger routine.
Everyone we have ever served these to has absolutely loved them.
They always say the same thing: Hey, why didn't we think of this??

Vic S.,
This has to be one of the most novel and new way to do dogs and burgers thatI have heard. It sounds very good to me since I like every one of the ingredients! I plan on trying these very soon, thanks for sharing.
