I'm going to slice some potatoes 1/4 inch thick, brush with olive oil and coat with Tsunami Spin. I forget the time and temp I used last. Nature Boy told me, but I'd imagine he has more important things on his mind. Anyone have a suggestion for time/temp?
Thanks! TNW

  • The Naked Whiz,[p]I found this in the archive. Please let me know how the Tsunami Spin works out.[p]Very Sinmple and Good Potato Recipe:
Peel, and slice potatoes (been using white) about 1/8-1/4 inch thick.
    Rub generously with olive oil.
Lay on plate and sprinkle one side with JJs rub.
Put on grill rub side down, and apply rub to other side of potatoes on grill. (I use 2 grates turned 90 degrees to each other so the slices don't fall thru)
Grill at 400-500 until browned well on each side (maybe 5 minutes a side).

    The Naked Whiz,
Prolly kinda late, but the cooking temp depends on the thickness. Something like 375 for 1/4 inch slices, maybe 20 minutes a side. For 1/8 inch slices, more like 500 for 5-10 minutes a side. They are just taters, so no hard/fast rules. Your goal just being to brown and caramelize the exterior and have the middle done. Did you do them already???[p]Beers

  • Nature Boy,
Nope, just about to do them in a hour or so. I've got 4 college freshman coming for ribs, and they are getting waffle fries from the freezer. My wife isn't into ribs, so i'm doing a Tsunami Spin chicken breast and Tsunami Spin potato slices for her on the small. Thanks!![p]TNW
