In the spirit of one of my favorite all time websites "Will It Blend" http://www.willitblend.com/ , I bring you the first in what I hope to be a series of posts called "Will it Egg?"
In these posts I will be trying to Egg various foods or food like products to see how they turn out on the Egg. I hope to in some way come close to some of the other mad scientist creations I've seen here. So without further ado...
First up - Quorn The label alone got me. If it's not meat, and it's not soy, then what the hell is the protein source? By looking at it I could see it wasn't bean based.
So here's the answer. Mycoprotein I immediately thought hmmm...why didn't they say mushroom? Well the answer is that you can't call just any fungus a "mushroom" and mycoprotein looks wwwaaaaayyyyyy better on food label than "Fungus."
I'm going to have to thaw this out and do soem research to decide what method I'll use. Direct, indirect, smoked, seared, roasted, rubbed...who knows how this will turn out.

Now this ought to be interesting! What did that mass of fungal food set you back? Comforting to know it has not been genetlicaly altered and in a complete natural state!

I await with great interest, the results of this and the future experiments.Manitoba, Canada Large BGE

The Bubba Tim Carnivore Mycoprotein Dish?
I'm somewhat of a culinary thrill seeker. Nowhere near say Andrew Zimmerman, but I've tried some wild stuff. I'll leave the awards to others...I'm here to try and push some boundaries. -
HAHAHAH! Now-that's funny. I cannot wait to see the results

it is not possible for a person to decide they don't like something just by looking at it. that's dismissal.
i say try it. i wouldn't have high hopes, but the concept of "dismissal" doesn't work for me whether it's food, drink, people, music, place, experience, or knowledge. among other things.
i'll say, looking at it, it looks like sad ass cr^p. hahaha
but sure, try it.ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
