New Bob,
Glaze? Did I hear Glaze?
puree some figs and add a coupla shots of Kaluhua to it.
Brush on at about 5 minutes before you wanna take it off the grill.Top it off with coarse ground black pepper.

New Bob,
another idea is to rehydrate some dried apricots with port wine, puree and glaze Mr. Piggy.

New Bob,[p]Try this...[p]1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
1/2 - 1 tsp soy sauce or worchestershire
fresh grated ginger
salt and fresh ground pepper to taste[p]Brush on in the last 10-15 minutes of the cook.[p]QBabe

QBabe,
Thanks, I have everything on hand but fresh ginger, I do have ginger in the spice form.[p]Regards,

New Bob,[p]The dried form should be fine as well...[p]I have begun keeping fresh ginger since I got a new toy for grating it called a microplane...it's also a wonderful tool for zesting lemons or oranges, and grating nutmeg. As you can tell, I'm easily amused...![p]Tonia

QBabe,
Microplane, yes, used for woodworking as well. A very nice tool. LOL
Thanks for letting me know the dried ginger will be O.K.[p]As it's only me I find it hard to keep much of anything that can spoil within a week.[p]Cheers,
New Bob

Wil,
Sounds delicious, but then I've never met a fig I didn't like. Bet you could even do it with canned figs... whaddaya think?[p]Ken

New Bob,Here's a hint for fresh ginger...scrape the outer layer off with the end of a spoon...a grapefruit spoon is great. Use as much as you need in a recipe. Put the remainder in a glass jar and cover with dry vermouth..refrigerate...keeps forever and the juice left when the ginger is gone is great in a stir fry![p]SB

Smokey Bob,
Thank you, the information from this forum is great. I have had to discard so much perishable food that it's upsetting.[p]Regards,
New Bob
