Well I have decided to try the low and slow on a couple of Pork Shoulders, seasoned with a little butt rub and brown sugar, got the Large Egg warmed up to 225 and on with the meat!

    duchunter....

Looks like we will be atleast some of the folks cookin tonight. You will absolutely love the results.

I am not positive from the picture, and am certainly not trying to tell you what to do, but it looks like your two cheeks are touching. :P

If you are looking for about 1.5-2 hours per lb as far as timing on the cook, try to separate the butts at least a quarter inch to allow for airflow. Hope you get some sleep.

Tomorrow morning, our backyards are going to smell glorious!

    nice. good luck.

check at midnight, then maybe once again at 4 am if you are nervous. even if the fire is stone cold at four a.m., you'd be safe

    Cruisin along just fine....

At the 10.5 hour mark, mine are at 245 grate and 185 internal. All pretty close to each other as well.

Timing looks pretty good on mine to finish up close to noon to hit the cooler and road to the beach.

    looks great!!

your shoulders were a little small compared to the butts i usually get more time out of plus the bone on a butt is much smaller ;)
