Used to make fried rice a lot, have shifted more to lo mein. Here's 2 things that we like at our house. Add a teaspoon or more, if you like, of some tahini. Adds a nice richness that goes good with tamari sauce. Mix in an egg just at the end, stir around, and let the heat of the other ingredients set it up. Makes for a slightly moister mass.

im no good at fried rice, what are you using for the pork, heres a great recipe for the red pork that qsis sent me years ago. you dont need to use the food coloring and country pork loin works well if you can find it with the ribs attached

    fishlessman,

Those pork satays look just like the ones I do. What was your marinade for them?

This is really worth a try. It works on steak as well.

    Julie,

Yes they are. If you are going to try it, use low sodium soy sauce. I don't really use recipes and always make this to taste. May be an idea to add the spices a bit at a time as well. I like really strong flavours and it may be a bit much for some. Thank Neil for me.

Julie, one of the Guest Pit Boss recipes on my site is my friend Norco's Mom's Rice. This recipe came from the Philippines where he was born. Norco is an Egger and has tweaked the original recipe just a little, so both versions are there.

Here are some ideas. i like to make an egg omelet and cut into pieces then add to rice. you have mail.

    Rice, Fried, Benihana

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 cup Uncooked rice
    5 Tbs Butter
    1 cup Chopped onion
    1 cup Chopped carrots
    2/3 cup Chopped scallions
    3 Tbs Sesame seeds
    5 Eggs
    5 Tbs Soy sauce
    Salt
    Pepper

    Procedure:
1 Cook rice according to package directions. In a large skillet melt butter.
2 Add onions, carrots and scallions. Saute until carrots are translucent.
3 Set aside. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place sesame seeds in a shallow pan.
4 Bake until golden brown (10 to 15 minutes), shaking pan occasionally for even color. Lightly grease another skillet. Beat eggs. Pour into hot skillet. Cook as you would scrambled eggs. Combine rice, vegetables, sesame seeds and eggs. Add soy sauce. Stir. Salt and pepper to taste.

Ms. Julie, my lovely wife does a wonderful pork chop and rice dish in the indoor oven that I have thought many times would be wonderful on the egg. All I know is it has rice, tomatoes of some sort, and then the pork chops on top. Or at least mixed in. This is something that I have enjoyed for 30 years and have thought many times would be wonderful on the egg. She does this in a Pyrex dish so that may be my downfall. I'm sure it is not a secret dish but is known by a lot of cooks.

Thanks for the reminder. I wonder if she would object or feel it a compliment for she is a wonderful cook.

I have for many years seared pork chops or chicken pieces in an electric skillet, sauteed onions, garlic and some rice and throw in a can of cooked/stewed tomatoes and cover 30 minutes or so at 350 and thanks to your thought will try on BGE someday. Thanks!

Sounds pretty much like the same thing, Richard. Let us know the results, please.

    Seriously.
