Did a dry run of the work stand table for Small, in the picture the second layer of aluminum tubes is where paving stone is supposed to be. Boy, that was UGLY. I may be crazy but I'm not stubborn, forget this idea.

If I have to start cutting, re-drill and spray paint the stand, I might as well take my time and build an all wood one from scratch when I have more time. Meanwhile, I think a corner of my garden bench, with paving stone and BGE feet can serve as a temporary table?

The little egg looks right at home on the garden bench. If you aren't careful your going to end up building a new garden bench instead. :cheer:

i think i would use enough pavers so all the wood in the egg area is covered. so no chance of embers on that wood seems a good idea to me, especially if it is near the house

That garden bench is almost like an heirloom, it started as my kids' jungle gym. When they outgrew it many years ago I reclaimed the wood to build the garden bench and shelving in the storage shed. Actually I've been toying with the idea of converting it into a dual egg table for both the Large and Small since my yard is tiny.

Garden bench much better. Wood is good. You can sit and drink beer next to your new buddy egg like ol' pals in the mean time while you contemplate a new wood table.

    Gary,

You should run down to the Nella warehouse on Southdown Rd. They have a load of used professional kitchen cabinets in stainless. They are also the distibutor for Maple Leaf. I'll meet you down there if you would like.

interesting idea Steve, do they have small ones? my yard is tiny plus I don't have the tool and horsepower to handle serious metal work :(

    Gary,

Yes they have single width cabinets and cutting a hole isn't a big deal. I have plasma cutters at work. A lot of them have adjustable shelves so you wouldn't need to do anything really.

Steve, I saw some at Nella in North York a while back but their selection was very limited, sounds like the one at Southdown Rd has better selection. Actually I'm off work this week Wednesday to Friday, may be I'll pay them a visit. btw, I smoked some cheese and chopped up a small assortment of 'donated' fruit wood chunks, perhaps I can drop some off at your office?

    Gary,

The Mississauga warehouse is the real wholesale. I need some lump and a couple of knives that I lost oin the fire. Busy Thursday but open Friday. I registered my company there so I get 20% off. Call me at 905 454 2721 and we'll set it up.
