My First Egg
I am one of the owners of Greenheat (enviromentally freindly BBQ products)and I think I have one of the only two eggs in England!! We will be promoting the eggs here in the UK starting on the 21 September at a fair in Birmingham. I have the largest egg and am a pretty seasoned BBQ person but have never cooked "Egg", and advice?

Welcome to the club, Big Si. Check the forum often and ask any questions you may have here. Oh, and throw out the owner's manual/cookbook. The only thing worth saving in there is the warranty card.[p]Jim

If you've never cooked on an Egg, I suggest you get some practice in now - in plenty of time before exhibiting your knowlege. [p]No, I haven't found it particularly difficult but better safe than sorry, IMO. The most important thing is learning to master controlling the temps. Once you can do that, you can pretty much do anything. This would include direct and indirect cooking.

Big Si,
Other than what Jslot said I would add that you should read through the "Submitted Recipe" section at the top of the forum, there are some great recipes and tips in there.[p]Wess

Big Si,
Is hardwood lump charcoal available across the pond? That's pretty vital to the taste. Enjoy every Eggsperiment and report your endeavors. Glad to have you aboard.
Cheers,
Gretl

The Naked Whiz,
Oh and of course, how could I forget. You definitely want to view the Flashback webpage:[p]TNW

The Naked Whiz, and you forgot to tell him to go to the bottom of your recipes page and download a copy of my 'Big Green Egg Forum Collected Recipes'. That should at least keep him busy for a while.

Big Si, you know with all the promoting of Greenheat we've done here on the forum, you ought to come over to EGGtoberfest and bring a few samples. Can you imagine the sight when Ed Fisher says "Ladies and gentlemen, start your EGGs" and 18 Big Green Eggs start up with Greenheat. What a photo-op!

Big Si,
Another good site to check out for recipes is Tim M.'s page. I believe there is a "new users" link on the main page, right side, the link is posted below.[p]Also, GFW has a great site at http://yyyz.net/bge/default.asp[p]Welcome, SS
