New Thermometer Question

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I just got one of those Redi-Check wireless thermometers and I'm wondering if I should wrap the probe leads in foil, or are they good to go as they are?[p]Thanx[p]Don

    DonH,
wrap the leads in foil... loosely (lotta airspace).[p]I find I'm safe certainly during a low-and-slo, and often go to 350 this way with no damage.
I try not to use it at all with temps over 350-375, even wrapped.[p]I did a roast the other day, and the dome temp got away from me somehow, found i was flirting with 410. the leads were fine afterward, but i certainly wouldn't recommend it.
