Colossal Stuffed Shrimp and Oysters
Florida Grillin Girl
Posts: 4,989
I finally found some colossal shrimp - 6 per lb.!!! This is a dinner plate:
I made a crabmeat stuffing using super lump crabmeat.
JLockart ingredient pic:
Crabmeat, onion, parmesan cheese, celery seed, tomatoe juice, panko bread crumbs, mayo, and parsley and some beaten egg
Cooked them up in a cast iron skillet on the mini. It's not a good pic, but it's the only one I took.
Now for the oysters. Took a little boat ride for the 4th and shucked some oysters. We had them on the half shell and brought the rest back to chargrill.
Here they are on the mini, 2 with crabmeat stuffing, the rest with garlic butter and parmesan cheese
The shrimp were excellent.
And for dessert I made homemade coffee ice cream with kona coffee that Hungryman brought back from Hawaii- Yumo!
Watched the fireworks from the balcony. Had a great 4th.

I did not know they still made schlitz? -

Great looking cook there! Where did you get such a deal on the shrimp, and where did you find the Shlitz?
-
Believe it or not - the shrimp came from Sam's Club and were $7.88 per lb.!!!! I bought 12 shrimp and they weighed 2.25 lbs.
I don't know where the Schlitz came from, oh yeah, it came out of my wine fridge.

Wow what huge shrimp. That looks great.
Faith,
I got your email but unfortunately we have plans that weekend that we can't break. You guys have a great time and thanks for letting us know about it.... -
Iheard they are brewing again but I've yet to find any in the bay area..
-
you all keep posting these pics that make my mouth water - and you are insuring that I will be getting that BGE .....
wonder how many moths will come out of the purse when I open those strings up ... -
Faith that looks really good! Thanks for the crab stuffing idea. We had some crabs left over so now I'll stuff some shrimp. I doubt that I will find any as large as yours.
-
The Schlitz came from Indiana. I'm not sure you can buy it here in Tampa Bay area or not, but as I was in Indiana and driving back to Florida, I got that fine Milwaukee beer. :woohoo: AND some Old Style and Strohs, which I have never seen here. :woohoo: Taste is an individual thing. Faith is nice to let me store some in her wine frig in the garage. My pappy was a bootlegger ---- tree and apple thing I guess.

My hats off to you Faith, I think everything I have seen you post has been outstanding and this one is a great example of Florida Grillin Girl in top form. Great job!
I have seen the huge shrimp at our Sam's but not knowing anything about them had not ventured to try them. I may have to change that.

Thanks so much, Gator Bait. You should try the shrimp. It was easy and good. I cooked them on 350 dome for about 20 minutes.

Outstanding! Can you please post the details on the oyster cook?
-
doccjb, the oysters are simple. I just pour some garlic butter on them and parmesan cheese. Grill at 400 -450 for 8 to 10 minutes, til brown around the edges.
