Wanted to calibrate my new BGE remote smoker thermometer. Did not feel like boiling water to do it.
So I took my temp the old fashion way, I put the probes under my tongue like my mom used to do.
Both smoker and food probe registered 68 to begin and 98 under my tongue.
I am calling this good calibration!
Yes, I will wash the probes before using!

We don't cook at 98 degrees...the 210 degree temp of boiling water is closer to actual cooking temps, therefore a better calibration point...and yes it does make a difference...a thermometer is its most accurate at the middle of its range...

Question is did you wash them afterward?
