Best method to reheat large amounts of Pulled Pork?

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Hello all. In the near future I will be bringing some PP (about 2 butts worth) to a gathering of freinds... Because of time I will need to cook it about 3 to 4 days before it will be served...[p]1) Whats the best way to store it (Freeze it or keep ref'd) to maintain its moist deliciousness?[p]2) What is the best wayt to reheat that much PP to again retain its moisture and flavor? Oven? Microwave in small batches?[p]Thanks[p]

  • Nardi,[p]The best way to store it is with a foodsaver. It keeps much longer that away and tastes better after defrosting.[p]Reheating is up to you. I usually just put what Im gonna use on a plate and cover with papertowels in the microwave. I nuke it for a short amount of time then stir it a little. It tastes best if you dont over nuke it.[p]Tom

Nardi,[p]We usually store in a foodsaver. For reheating, I have no problems doing the boil-in-bag thing...the foodsaver stuff is great for that, unless you are looking to crisp it back up and then I reheat in the oven.[p]Tonia

  • Nardi,
I put it in a foil pan and covered with foil and put it in the refrigerator the last time I wanted to keep it for a day. I can't see doing the food saver thing for just 3 or 4 days? To reheat we just put the pans in a 350 degree oven, still covered, for about 30-45 minutes.[p]TNW
