Costco Pizza

So far, all I have cooked are burgers. I was thinking over this long weekend to try my hand at a pizza. :P I have a stone and a plate setter and an XL egg. I was wondering if anyone used a "take and bake" pizza from Costco and baked it in a XL BGE? If so, how did it come out and do you have tips to share?
Thanks,
Mordi

I did this one from Wally World and it came out great. Our home made ones are better though.
This was actually our first pizza and wanted to try things out.

If you want to stir up a hornets nest on this forum just bring on questions about any related pizza issues and there will be a lot of useful information coming back at you. There are many pre cooked pies out there.Try whatever appeals to you and just follow the instructions that they give you with a plate setter and pizza stone and you will be all right. To make your own dough is a simple matter and far superior to the whatever pie that you find in the freezer section.Do your first one and then later make your own.You will be a happy camper if you do it yourself.

I agree 100%. Our home made pies are much better. Just a word of caution, the deli pies have a harder dough and do not act the same as a fresh pie. Keep the dough cold before putting it on the stone or use parchment paper. After you make your own you will never get another deli pie. However they will do in a pinch when time is tight and you have been working inn the yard all day.

Well - I just thought it would be a good way to get introduced to cooking a pizza - if I bought one at Costco already made up.
But come to think of it, I have a bread maker, so making my own dough the next time around should be a snap.
Any recommendations on making the dough in a breadmaker - any particular receipe and/or brand of flour? And where do I get "parchment paper"

There are a some good recipes on this forum just search them out. I use the Garlic-Butter that is posted in the recipe section. It is really good. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

I don't use a breadmaker - but I use King Arthur All Purpose unbleached flour - or I use King Arthur bread flour.
Parchment paper should be available in any supermarket. I use it all the time for artisan breads. I don't use it for pizza though - I just make the pies by hand in the air then lay them on a wooden peel dusted with semolina and top them. -
I like the garlic and butter dough on the recipe tab. Any grocery store should sell parchment paper near the foil and Saran wrap.
