Sticky Pig Jalapeno BBQ Sauce

Recently I read a post here from an egger in Texas lauding a product made in MO that he said rivals or surpasses Blue's products. Being the adventurous type I ordered some and this arrived today.

I took the usual knife taste and found the consistency and taste did indeed remind me of Blue's and it was good! Then I tried the Jalapeno flavored one. That is a sauce with a personality! Not too hot to burn you but a nice lingering after taste.
Their dry rub tastes fine - I'd say it is a good general purpose rub. Ingredients wise it just lists salt spices
garlic powder and onion powder.
Timing was perfect as I was in a basic cheeseburger frame of mind so I rubbed the patties with their rub and then on to my small BGE. Note the fine sear marks!

Then after 4/4 I made this double decker and spread an ample amount of Jalapeno sauce on both pieces of bun.

Then kept it simple with some dill pickle. Sorry for the shaky picture - guess I was moving in for the kill!

That made for one delicious noon lunch! I'll order more Sticky Pig when the time comes!
BTW I don't have a horse in this race but if you're interested here's their site.

Hi Ron, great looking burgers - think I'll switch to burgers for tonight!
We just returned from a float trip in Missouri last week and brought a few more bottles back to share. I ran across a new rub while there and gave it a try. Was looking for a sweet rub to offset the heat from the pulled pork ABTs I fixed for the river rats. I started looking at ingredients lists and this had brown sugar as the first ingredient with salt way down the list. Mised some in cream cheese loaded up with pork stuffed the Jalapenos, wrapped in bacon and dusted with the rub. HUGE success!
The rub is called Hen-n-Hog Dust from Spicewine Ironworks in Columbia, MO. Its worth a try. Unfortunately, we returned to Texas straight from the river and I was unable to pick up a few more bottles to share. -
Sorry Frank that I forgot your handle or I would have given you proper credit for putting me on to these products! At least my feeble mind recalled you were from TX, though I also knew you haled from Jeff City.
Yes I'll be on the look out for that rub too.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time! -
It will be!
