  • Congratulations Melissa and Brent. Your food and dips were out of this world. It is easy to see why you won and won for the second year in a row. There was so much extremely good food there to sample. It was great to get to meet you both. I know Anne had really been looking forward to meeting you.

Hopefully they'll be there next year and make it 3 in a row. :)It would really take something over the top to beat them. Great picture Darry, thanks for posting it.

Here is a sauce she did in Atlanta '06. May not be the same.

    Sauce, Dill/Tartar, AlaskanC

Here's the tartar/ dill sauce for a crowd recipe. Its about the roughest guess I could give since I never measure the ingredients.... It needs to be scaled down for the average household, but as I found out the hard way it needs to be scaled UP for Eggtoberfest!!

    INGREDIENTS:
1 32 Ozs Jar Best Foods Mayo(or Hellmans as its called on the "other" side of the country)
    1 8 Ozs Jar Capers
    approximately 15 baby dill pickles
2 Tbs of finely chopped fresh dill (I used a whole plastic pack of the fresh stuff)
    2 lemons
1 white or yellow sweet onion
    fresh cracked pepper

    Procedure:
1 This is very much one of those "to taste" recipes, so change what you want.
2 Put the mayo into a bowl
3 Squeeze the juice from the two lemons into the mayo, then stir it up.
4 Add about 2-3 tablespoons of the pickle juice (you don't want this to be too liquidy)
5 Chop/mince/ dice the rest of the ingredients (but not the capers) and add them in.
6 Drain most of the liquid off of the capers and dump the whole jar in
7 Stir it up, and let it sit for about an hour, then add cracked pepper to taste just prior to serving.
8 I hope I got that right.... whew.
