Great photos Julie, thanks for sharing them. I love the way you make the fest a family affair. I keep trying to raise interest with my family and don't get very far. I don't know if they are shy or what. I like the picture of your Mom. My Mom loved to cook and loved people also. She would have had a blast at a fest too.
Glad to see the new camera is working out. That is a model that has had my interest since it came out.

    Have a great day,

    Gator

Hey Gator, thanks and the fests are great family events. there was a group there that had over 40 people that was all family. they won the peoples choice award of the golden egg with all the great things they cooked :) and they won the drawing for the large egg and table they gave away too. they were all every excited and happy eggers. they covered all ages too cooking.
I do love may camera and it is a nice and easy one to use. I got something on the lens and did not have anything to clean it with and had a little trouble with the focus on a few shots but still better than what I had.
still smoke free??? eggcept the eggs of course!! :S

    Hi Julie,

Forty people all in one family at a fest would be hard for me to imagine. That would be incredible! My family is a bunch of old stick in the muds if you know what I mean. I'm the odd ball and love meeting people.
Sorry you got something on your lens. I remember back in the late 60's when I was going to photography school in Boston I walked into my favorite camera shop at the time and the Nikon factory rep was there. He demonstrated how tough the coatings on their lenses were by putting out his cigarette on one, it was amazing. One of those "don't try this at home" moments.
I have noticed that the auto focus on any of these cameras can get lost or just can't seem to figure what it is you are asking of it. I think the few digital cameras I have had you focus by pressing the shutter button part way. Some times I may have to press it a few times before it will lock in focus. Sometimes I may have to shift the cameras view a little before it will focus or sometimes I may have to try a different setting before it is happy. Not often but sometimes. LOL, thats to many "sometimes", sorry. I have noticed that a flat monochromatic subject can be hard to focus on. Like trying to photograph the proverbial Polar Bear in a snowstorm or a Maine fog bank would not surprise me in the least if any auto focus had problems.

Yup, still smoke free. Hahahaha, not my first choice. Baaa Humbug! I still miss the smokes but it gets easier to say NO to myself. If I am going to argue with anyone it might as well be with myself over cigarettes. That sounds a little weird, maybe I shouldn't repeat that around a shrink! "No Doctor, I'm not schizophrenic! I quit smoking (insert maniacal laughter here)." Another week will be three months, 1/4 year! :woohoo:

    Have a great day,

    Gator
