Freezing cooked ribs?

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I am soon going to need to do ribs for 10 people. I think it will take 2 cooking sessions.[p]I am a little worried about keeping them overnight after they are done. Would not want to have 10 sick people.[p]I am wondering about doing them several days in advance and immediately freezing them. Then simply thawing and heating them near the time for consumption.[p]I would appreciate any thoughts from those who might have frozen cooked ribs. (or any who have more knowledge than I about it) (As I think about that, that includes almost everyone)

I would highly recommend getting a Foodsaver for that purpose, KL. I have experimented with freezing ribs quite a few times. I was not pleased with the results until I got the Foodsaver. With the vacuum packing, the ribs taste just like they came off the grill. You can reheat in the microwave or in boiling water.[p]Jim

KL, No real need to freeze them if they go in a vaccum pack. In the vac pack they should be good for several days in the refer.
