what a fun, fun day. We were so surprised with the weather!! as we got closer it cleared and fri night we had a little rain but sat dawned clear with a few puffy clouds. it got hot and there were sunburns on many by the end of the day! the meet and great on fri night was fun and we camped there in the parking lot fri night. sat we started with coffee and bruchetta and sausage and cheese bread that Jay does so well. then we did chocolate chip orange rolls and then the pork and pinto beans went on. Mom and Dad made it this year and they did cabbage with cheese and onions. we ended with rhubarb custard crisp. there was a lot of people cooking and so many good, good things to eat! I did not get away from the eggs much as once again it just was having to much fun cooking and talking "egg" the one thing I do miss with this fest is the after party, this is a quiet group and that is nice too. It was great getting to see Jeff/Stike and his wife again and Meeting Mark! I came away pretty rich from this weekend! 1 1/2 pounds of Marks buckboard bacon and a duck breast from Stike!!! I am not sure which I am more eggsited about!! when we left sat afternoon we went about 4 miles and it was foggy and drizzeling

and the Duck breast!!! neil looked at it kind of funny, I hung it in the camper from the top vent in the roof, so it was kind of lit by the moon all night. He just shook his head and said that was mine and he got the bacon....and I did not have to share mine LOL he is such a stooge about some things. I mean it has onely hung in Stike basement for how many weeks???

great pics. That is one funny shot of Mike, did you give a great big wad of Copenhagen.

LOL thanks Mike, it is nothing fancy but we like it. I wish we could have brought the other one as it is really cuter and older, a 1957. that one is a 1960 and I did not get it polished before we left. it is pretty when it is all shiny, but we have had nothing but rain. it is fun camping right there. we did not have to go anywhere or haul anything off. we had good neighbors too
Chris from Dizzy pig, his brother in law. Nice guy!!
-
Thats is good you had such a good time. Some day I like to see pictures of the other one... That be cool.
-
LOL I love showing them off. Neil has done alot of work to them
this is the 1957 Shasta last year in Ny at the family reunion
we have a bunch more old coolers now to take with us. they work GREAT! better than most of the new ones! you can see the side where I was polishing it. the pink flagging is because there were about 30 little kids running worund and we did not want to hang any of them.
and our son Michael getting there with our 1961 SHasta that we sold last year. this one was all done inside and out and deocrated in 60's old kitchen stuff. very cute inside. -
Ms. Julie, thanks for the pics and that sure is good looking bread. It looks like you guys had a great time.

Great post Julie! I'm happy the weather had a pleasant surprise for you. It's so nice to see pictures of some northern forest again! I bet it smelled wonderful. When I first moved down here I called Palm trees Pine trees for two years. Looks like a great time was had by all. I tried to interest some of my egging family up there to attend but I guess they are to shy or something. Beats me. I would have loved to have been there.

Great pics! I didn't see my old buddy Neil. I hope you took him with you.
