Just curious. Seems my small is just not prone to have that flashback thing. Anyone ever experience one on a small?

The Other Dave,[p]Never had one. The airflow characteristics are different on the Small - i.e., they are not as good, in my opinion. It's also more of a challenge (for me, anyway) to get the super high temps on my Small.[p]On the Medium, I've only had probably 2 flashbacks in 2 years. [p]TRex

The Other Dave,[p]I've had some flare-ups when dealing with nuke temps (650°+) but haven't had a "true" flashback. [p]My small does low temps and high temps without any noticable airflow problems. It does take it a little longer to come up to temp, but nothing major....[p]LOVE MY SMALL!

    The Other Dave,
Like the others here, I have never had a flashback on my small in over a year of use, and I do quite a lot of high temp sears with dwell. On the other hand, I have had more than my share of them on my large - I just can't seem to keep my mind "in the game" all the time. My wife has suggested that it might have something to do with that third or fourth beer . . . ?

  • TRex, To get the super hot temps, I use an old pancake motor out of an old computer. I have it hooked up to an old junk marine battery. It blows into the bottom vent, and watch out! Easy to get too hot. I aready burned my gasket.[p]But even with this set up, no flashback.

I don't mind the flashback on my large so much. It keeps my eyebrows trimmed.
