18 inch pizza stone or cutting down plate setter?

Hi all, I received a Wu 2 accessory for my XL but cannot find a pizza stone to go with it. The BGE ones are 14 and 21 inches for the L and XL. Does anyone hav ea suggestion where I can locate an 18 inch pizza stone (or similar size)?
Another alternaitve I am considering is to cut the legs off my XL plate setter since it is now obsolete since my Wu toy will enable to cook indirect, fit a drip pan underneath, and have a cooking surface level to the edge of my egg. Has anyone done this with success?

I've got a Flip Ring, Hanger & Grid XL from the ceramicgrillstore.com. The stone fits on the hanger, inside the firering. In theory I could make my own indirect pizza stone by cutting the legs off my plate setter. It may end up looking a bit octagonal ...

I have a 16" stone. It is actually a round kiln shelf made of the same material as the pizza stone and has worked great. The same thicknes as the BGE stones. Many on the forum use these and the prices are great. But even the kiln shelves come 16" and then 21". They also have the plate setters.

Good luck on cutting off the legs. I ordered a platesetter from an online dealer for my medium and they sent a large. It looked like I might be able to use it as a stone if I cut the legs off. Whew, what a job. Abrasive cutting wheel, sparks and grit for about 30 min. And, after all that, it was so big it cut off the air flow so much that it dropped the heat.

might be pricey but a stone counter top place could cut you one out of soapstone. soapstone is what i use in my egg. my stone was pretty thin and its cracked but ive really abused it with 1200 degree cooks. im thinking something 3/4 inch thick would be about right. my soap stone pizza stone is under a half inch thick, maybe 3/8

I have the same set up as you do. I used a wet saw and cut off the legs of my xl platesetter. Works great.

the axner stones mentioned within are the laguna clay cordierite stones. check the laguna clay website for national distributors. Here are a couple options:

RF-196 5/8" x 16" round
RF-211 5/8" x 19" round
RF-213 5/8" x 9-1/2" half round

I like and use the 16 inch round. It works nicely with an 18 inch pan, only 1 inch of pan overhang around the stone.
