Can you sear with the Woo3?

I am debating which setup I want to get from our friends at the CGS.

I personally think the Woo3 will be better for me than the adjustable rig. But I was wondering can I sear with the Woo3? If I put the 13inch cast iron grate on it will it accomplish the same thing as the spider? Obviously the spider is much lower, but if I have a hefty chunk of lump in there it would work right? Any help is appreciated
thanks
tim

dont see why you couldnt. the one thing i see as a big advantage with the adjustable is that the top grill sits higher in the dome which makes certian cooks easier. if you dont like to cook direct high in the dome, the woo3 is fine, there is an extender that he has that goes with it but i think the adjustable would work better than a woo3 extender combo. the other nice feature with the adjustable is the ability to remove all the food at once by just lifting the rig out. pros and cons with both

BBQ chicken is the best cooked high (adj rig).

You can sear on the woo3 with the medium or small BGE cast iron grid but I really don't recommend it. If you want to stay at the top of the fire ring for searing, you'd be better off buying BGE's "large" cast iron grid. Just giving you the best option for searing atop the fire ring. tom
