Yes, I started this thread years ago. The original regret was size. Now it is size and available accessories. Only question is will it be another Egg, Weber Summit Charcoal or Komodo Joe. Seventy now with bad shoulders and great local Egg distributors. Also have a Weber Genesis gas grill. Having outdoor renovation done with big screen porch, fireplace tv etc with 8x12 grilling deck with gas. Ideal outdoor living and cooking. So weight is a topic as is the hinging on the dome. Gonna make the move soon after construction is done. If you know that drill, who knows when that will be.
If I was adding one it would be the KJ by a mile. Many more features that are included in the price. My wife even wants to sell our medium egg and get the KJ. Nothing wrong with a green one and a red one
I am leaning in that direction for the reason you give. Can give my medium to a son who is near. The other one has a large Egg
  • A mile? Not sure I agree with that. I think it’s clear we have two competent players, but KJs aren’t cheaper than eggs anymore. I’d say give KJ a look for sure, but I’ve had great support from my dealers on my green cookers, and I don’t expect anything different on the red one I got for Christmas.

I have an XL, Large, Medium, Small, Mini and a Fire Magic gasser. If I could  only have one it would it would be the Large. It's the work horse.
XLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser
  • Go with the large. You won't regret it.

Weber Genesis CP310; Weber Q1200 (camping); LBGE.
