Looks great Doug...thanks to this forum we are grinding our own meat on a regular basis...I have some trimmings from the rib meat and I can't wait to grind it and make a rib fattie... Chris (aka Nature Boy) made them at Waldorf and they were great.
-
Sorry,I prematurely submitted that one, here's the rest of the pics

Great now I am hungry again.... :P :P :P

   yeap...that's what I was looking for Doug....the actual burgers..the judge seems to be convinced.... :woohoo:

Those are some great shots! Nothing like seeing the kids enjoying dinner! I'm thinking about doing some freshly ground beef soon--thanks for the ideas!
-
And you still have all your fingers  Nice job
-
Those burgers look FANTASTIC Doug!! From the pics it looks like you dd a very coarse grind. I've got to try this sometime. Did you add anything else to the meat prior to cooking them?
Your little boy is adorable!! Looks like he's sure enjoying dinner. -
That sure looks good. Wish I had one, or two right now.
-
The only reason he has all his fingers is because there's a guy from Melobourne that wasn't there. :woohoo:
-
Doug,
Those look great. Did you add any fat or just grind the roast? -
 son finishing burger could be a poster...no, a billboard! you've got to frame that one!!
-
Doug,
I have a grinder attachment for the Kitchen-Aid that I have yet to use. Guess I should give it a try.

Sparky,
Sorry, I prematurely responded. Here's the rest of my post....Great looking burger & kid!

I've been wanting to try this, Sparky. From the pictures it looks like you chunked the chuck, then ground it once on coarse.
How much (if any) fat did you add?
How many passes through the grinder?
The butcher at the local grocery told me I would need to add fat and gave me (free) some beef fat he'd just trimmed and was about to discard. -
Dave...I wish I could find a butcher that nice! Been trying to get plain old pork fat here for about a year! I can't even buy it! They look at me like I have three heads when I ask for it. :S

Hey Thanks to everyone.I was having some router issues last night, and I kept losing my internet :pinch: I wasn't ignoring ya'll,I promise
:P Here's what I did,for those that wanted to know
First,I cut the roast into cubes and put some Raisin the Steaks on them. Then I put the cubes in the freezer for an hour or so.I also put the the grinder attachment in the freezer,as LC recommended. Then I just ran it through the grinder once, with the coarse disk in it.That's it,once was enough,so I just made the patties and tossed them on the XL :woohoo: I will definitely be doing burgers this way again soon
