My wifes Birthday is Saturday and all she wants is for me to grill up some whole talapia. Ive seen some shows but they never use the Egg. Ive used the Egg from everything from bread to anything else I could throw on there but for some reason a whole fish rather than a fillet scares me. any help would be great.

Try planking it with thin lemon slices on top and inside. 400F for 10 minutes every inch of thickness is what the Florida Fishing Industry recommends. How big is this puppy?

    John - Direct, raised grid, 400* +/-
Make sure the fish is scaled first, remove the side fins. Score through the skin into the flesh nearly to the bone in a diamond pattern about 1-1 1/2 inches apart, especially on the thick end. This helps the fish cook evenly, and makes a beautiful presentation.
When seasoning, make sure you open those slices you made, and get the seasoning down in there as well. As it cooks, those slices will automatically "open up" as the fish cooks.
It is also a good idea to put foil over the head and tail to protect them during the cook. (grilled eyeballs really aren't very sexy looking.....)
    Best of luck to you!

I was informed that talapia was alittle boring so Im going to our local fish market downtown and see what else I can find. It sounds like the cooking instructions will work for just about all fish. Ill post up some pictures sunday. Im getting hungry just thinking about it. The menu is this.
Fish, baked potatoes.asparagus, sald, and dinner rolls. all on the grill (minus the sald but may roast the tomatoes for it tho).
