I've been away a good bit the last few weeks and probably missed a post on the details of the Texas Eggfest. When, where, etc?
I guess y'all would let folks from "next door" come visit!

Shelby,[p]No dates or places have been set yet. We're still trying to round up a list of all who would possibly attend, and then we need to decide when, where, and who sponsors.[p]Spring Chicken is doing all of the leg work here (thanks Leroy!), so I'm sure he'll chime in with more details.[p]TRex

    Shelby,
TRex covered things pretty much but I will put my 3 cents in. [p]This whole thing started when Chim-Chimney's (a very supportive local BGE dealer) was having their grand opening a few weeks ago. We got wind of it and a few of us decided it was time to see what we look like in person. We decided to show up for the grand opening. It turned out great and it wasn't long before someone mentioned having our own Eggfest. So I started putting together a list of local Eggheads, mostly from what I found on the BGE Profiles page. I sent e-mails to those I didn't know and most responded back. All were excited about the possibility of holding an Eggfest. The owner of Chim-Chimneys said he would see what he could do about sponsoring the Fest. [p]We were already on a roll and after just two or three hours.[p]Next thing you know I started getting e-mails from other Texas Eggheads wanting to get in on the fun. So I went back to the Profiles page and looked up all of those who claimed Texas as home. Lots of them. So I went to the Forum and posted a message about what we are doing. Lo and behold, I started getting e-mails from all over Texas. At this point the thing took on a life of its own. [p]I don't see any reason why non-Texans couldn't participate. You may have to wear cowboy boots and tell very tall-tails while drinking longneck beer but I have a feeling you could manage that.[p]I'm still compiling the list but I am attaching what I have so far. If you want in, let me know. I figure we will have enough support before long to hold an Eggfest.

    Spring Chicken,
I just spoke with John Thomas, the owner of Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg. He indicated that, depending on the time of year, Wildseed Farms would be interested in hosting an EggFest.[p]The Hill country around Fredericksburg is a pretty sweet spot.[p]Just an option.[p]Check out the Wildseed Farms Website[p]

Shelby, shouldn't this be called the "tEGGas-fest"?

Spring Chicken,[p]Looks like it's about time to create a TEGGas Fest webpage . . .[p]I'll gladly volunteer my assistance, although I currently know very little about webpage design.[p]TRex

    Lawn Ranger,
Fredericksburg is one of our favorite places in the USA, Probably making a little vacation time there this fall. The gridlifters are causing a lot of conversation in southwest Mississippi. Probably have a new order for you soon. Ray Price
