Flat Irons on the Mini

In honor of my passing my open water SCUBA certification dives in Table Rock Lake this weekend (who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks !-) , I felt a steak was in order. Due to the cost of the SCUBA gear, however, let's just say that dry aged prime isn't on the menu any time soon.... Fortunately, the local grocer had Flat Iron steaks on sale for $3.99/lb.. A little asparagus, and a cheap bottle of decent Australian Shiraz, and the Mini does it's magic... Good Stuff!

Congrats on passing. Table Rock is a very beautiful lake. Flat irons look nice.

The flat iron is my favorite value steak now. Short of some really awesome prime meat, it's my favorite.

    Good looking cook.

Congrats on the certification, and thanks for reminding me about flat iron steaks. I learned about those when I first switched over to BGE a few years ago, and I must say that they are one of my favorite steaks!
