Mini Issues

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
My young son is badgering me to buy a mini so he can "cook like daddy." He saw one at our local dealer and took to it immediately. Obviously, this thing is no toy, and he would never be given access to it absent adult supervision. I'm curious....what kind of temperatures can it produce, and, practically, what can you cook on it? Maybe 2-3 hamburgers or 2 small steaks? Any insight would be appreciated.

Bill-the-Grill, I would approach this like buying a child a rifle for hunting. They need to have a certain level of appreciation for the dangers and the responsibility they need to take. Also, they need to understand that - like a rifle - it is only to be used while you're around. The mini can get almost as hot as the larger ones so it certainly is not without danger. However, I would do it for my son. In fact, I'm about to get my son one. Of course, my son is 19 now.

Bill-the-Grill,[p]Brother Bill (Wise One) sizes the issue up quite well, and I'll second his thoughts. I'd do it with the appropriate levels of supervision and respect warranted when working with fire.[p]Puj
