BGE Table

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I went by my local BGE supplier today for my periodic "fix". He's now carrying the factory-made BGE tables that I know some of you have (both big and small). They're nice-looking units. As far as I know, I'm getting along OK with the "wing shelves" that came with my unit. Do I really need a table, or am I just addicted? The cost is not a factor as I'll make Mrs. Grill get a 2nd or 3rd job, as necessary, to fund same. Has anyone else faced this canundrum?

Bill-the-Grill, If it ain't broke don't fix it - I have wings on my medium and they serve me well...however I built a table for my large with the idea in mind I "might" add a small at a later date - which I did. At first I missed the working space on the table, but quickly resolved that by adding a hinged table to the side. That table is actually a 32 x 26 laminated maple cutting board from Bed, Bath & Beyond. The hinges are a special (but inexpensive) style from The Wood Worker Supply.

    Bill-the-Grill,
With regard to Mrs. Grill or a table for your egg? I'd go for the 3 job version... Keeps the house quieter...[p] As to the table, my egg came with a nest but no wings. I've found this to be quite frustrating and a buddy is building a table to fit the "hen house". I put my egg in an old stone smokehouse, so he's going to go wall to wall with a table and shelves... I think it's important to have the storage area for all the egg toys too... where no one will break my pizza stone, etc.

    Bill-the-Grill,
Yep, my wife is working right now. She started showing 5 houses at 6:00 PM....(realtor) so I'm free till about 10. It's quiet in the house (translation: boring) [p]I'm all prepped for an all nighter...2 lg pork butts. Maybe I'll just start things now to have something to do.[p]Mike in MN
