Hello all,

I just purchased a semi used egg.. Well used only 2x and a great deal.

That said, I need to transport this puppy and want to make sure I dont break it.

* Can you lay it on its side or does it have to stay straight up?

What I did was set in the seat and seatbeleted in it and it rode fine. That is what the dealership told me. It was just a friend riding with me. Good Luck

We camp with our mini & small...they get strapped in the back seat with the seat belts on...they are good kids...we never have to threaten to pull over if they don't behave...
    :silly:  :silly:
  • For good measure, after seat-belting it in the backseat, recline the empty front passenger seat to 'hold' it.

how about lifting the egg? Says 140lbs (got the large).

I can lift heavy things.. just making sure it is not impossible.

Should I disassemble the lid and remove the inners? Or leave the lid on and remove the inner parts? Do they just "lay" inside? Egg assembly video showed them resting..

some use a pot lifter made from nylon straps, i made my own lifter which also mounts on the wheeler. it really takes 2 to lift them safely unless you take them apart.

I just hauled mine ( bought used ) 1300 miles. Put it into two barrel halves. One on top of the other and strapped it together. Placed it in front of my truck bed and strapped the whole thing in. I was pulling a fifth wheel at the time. The wine barrels provided good protection but are heavy. The Pot Lifter came in very handy. It would work well also in a trailer. Sorry do not have pictures - was in a hurry to get it home.

Here is what I use.The egg rides nicely in there, then when you're ready to cook, you just turn it over and set the egg on top.BTW: this is a medium BGE :)

All the mini children left Ocala and they weren't in safety seats. You should be ashamed putting them in harms way like that. It's a good thing the police chasing pooter and tim didn't stop you!
