I plan to get my first BGE. Should I look for new or is used okay? I'm in KC. Any recommendations for a newbee?

bbq boy,
The only way I would buy used is if it were a terrific deal...below 50% of new price. Eggs are pretty nearly invincible but the customer service and warranty are superb. Lifetime warranty means eggsactly that. I don't believe the warranty is transferable.

New because of the warranty. Yu could look used, but be careful what you buy. Remember, all the kings horses and all the kings men!

If you can spend the money I would go new for a few reasons. The biggest is a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. No problems to fix, gaskets to replace however ther some good deals out there on used Eggs. I bought an XL new and a large used. It depends on how much the used one is. Just my 2 cents.
