My first go at an overnight cook.
8 lb Butt. Currently resting at 225.

Hopefully I built the fire right and we won't have any issues. Guess we'll see come morning.
It stunk when I took it out of the fridge and trimmed it. Smell seemed to subside a bit later. Hope it's not gone bad on me.... What the hell, I'm cooking it anyway. We got public health care if a need a little stomach pump out tomorrow night.

I believe you. I asked for a Butt and the Butcher gave me a Shoulder. I think something is lost in Canada/US translation. We do have picnics up here, but if you ask for a Butt, this is what you get. Maybe a Butt and then some? HK I'm cooking it.

Idon't know, I slept through a 5.7 earthquake, and was up 4 times on my first overnighter.Of course the beer fridge is next to the egg!

butt comes from the shoulder, but that portion is a picnic shoulder. it's the lower portion. looks like a ham, actually. we don't see the picnic with as much length of the front leg still attached
