Hi and welcome
load it with lump and open the bottom draft and take off the daisy wheel on the top. take two paper towels, twist into two ropes and put them in a ziplock baggie. drizzle with some vegi oil and squeeze them in the bag a little to soak up the oil. you do not need to soak them
lay them on top of the lump in an x and put a few small piece of lump on top of them. light the 4 ends and close the top. give it about 10 minutes and watch your temp. after it starts to climb put the daisy wheel back on top and leave the top open. start closing it up as you come up to the temp you want. try not to over shoot it as it is hard to bring down as it gets hot
close the bottom draft up so about 1 inch and then start closing that up too. the just the Daisey open on the top and the draft on the bottom about 1/2 an inch I get 350-375. depending on the draft. just keep the screen closed so nothing fall out the bottom door and you will be fine. Julie
