I use mine [foodsaver] to save cooked pulled pork and have gone 21 days just in the meat drawer of the fridge with no problems. I just get a pot of water boiling and drop the bags in still sealed and in 10 minutes I am ready to go.
I sauce on the side of my pork items.

Hey the first thing a Meat Manager does is check the cooler to see where the help stashed the beer and whiskey. Got to keep them sober around all the knifes and saws.

theres a butcher close enough to me that i can call an order in at 9am and pick up what i need at my 9:30 break. keep the meat at work and take home afterward. i also hit the supermarket at lunch at times, pick up a few items and something to eat, back to work in a half hour. i only do quick trips, and never have a full fridge, no telling what someone might post today that i want to cook tonight or tomorrow. the best is the "meat house" in town. can pick up some ground pork, or a dry aged steak, and in the process walk around and eat, they always have cooked steak tips, chicken, shepards pie, sandwich quarters etc out to taste and it takes the sting out of paying for that 20 dollar a pound steak im having tomorrow by eating a free lunch today ;) i did have to go out last night for some goat cheese for stuffing that mushroom i found, but it was worth it. things are pretty convieneint here, within 5 minutes i can hit 5 supermakets and 2 real butchershops and a fish monger. add another ten minutes and there is lots of choices.

They're refrigerator pickles. Really, they are. I like making that style (and pickling other veggies) more than the water bath ones. They just have to live in the fridge.

BTW, don't you eat pickles with your barbecue. :)
