Porch Update (no pics)

Just a quick update on my screened porch / kitchen construction. Sorry no pics, but there is so much "junk" lumber, ladders, drills, table saw, etc. that pics would not look too good.

The ceiling (tongue-n-groove - 6" planks) went in last week and received UV stain. Exterior is almost complete and the kitchen "annex" is framed up.

Today they made significant progress on building the cabinets (kitchen and TV areas). Tomorrow he brings samples of different sunscreen material (70%, 80%, 90%) so we can decide on color and darkness (that afternoon sun is hot)!

Picked up an under-counter compact refrig today at Lowes, and we got 4 ceiling fans there yesterday. Also found a Vizio 32" LCD TV at Wally World at a good price (plus 2 yr XT warranty since it will be outside).

He thinks they will be completed by the end of the week - I don't see how, but this guy amazes me - no plans - all in his head.

As soon as things get less crowded, I will get some updated pics. From the outside, it looks like it was part of the original house, not an add-on.

    Can't wait for those. Sounds like he is moving along very well. Be pleased with that. So many nightmare stories ou there.

    Yeah, this guy is better than I was told. He did a cabana for a neighbor friend and is really doing a great job here. He has probably already gotten two more jobs as a result of this one. And he is incredible reasonable on top of all that! :woohoo:
