Jerky report - Daves not here
Dave,[p]On that Jerky picture below was that an indirect cook? I couldn't tell from the pic if there was a pizza stone or plate setter on the very bottom or not.[p]I was thinking about maybe stacking grills on 1 inch blocks of wood to get more separation. You may could get 5 or 6 stacks (maybe more)with only an inch between.[p]Kurt

Kurt,
Sorry for the late response, been away for a few days.[p]It was two splits (firebricks) on their side and two on their edge in a U shape, very common amoungst Eggers.[p]In hindsight, I did not put a drip pan or even foil over the bricks ... what a mess. Last night I started a bonfire inside just to clean up everything.[p]Next time, I'm going to try some sort of stacking technique.[p]Since fixing this, I've had two friends ask if they bought the meat, would I fix the jerky. It was really good.
