eggcamper, don't worry too much about the dimensions... you can fudge and wrinkle to fit. i found that using a greater space between the bottom and top shelf more convenient for the placing of a larger tote to hold charcoal and wood chunks. you can shim the bottom of the egg up to raise it as high as you need. don't fuss.. forge ahead with your own ideas, let us know how it all shakes out.
