I have different kinds of woods but the one I can't get except online is Sugar Maple.
Pecan is one of my favorits, is it worth paying the extra for shipping to try the S.M???
Thanks,
Bordello

For wood "flavors" that I can't get locally, I like to use pellets. Here's the best place I have found when buying less than a pallet at a time.

Bordello,
Isn't it ironic. They have culled all the old sugar maple on the line leading to my house, at least a hundred old trees. I can't get persimmon.

I forgot to mention in my other post, YES, in my opinion, Sugar Maple is worth it. It's a very good "seasoning"
I wouldn't use it for pork butt or brisket or any long smoke, but for seafood, wings (chicken in general) and other more quickly grilled/smoked, I use it lots of times. If you mix it with pecan, oak or hickory, it might get covered up.
I try to keep at least one 25# bag on hand at all times. -
Thanks for the input. I do intend to get some.
Cheers,
