What brand of ham do you buy? Help!

Over the last few years we have had some wonderful hams cooked on our BGE. I always buy the butt portion Smithfield from Kroger. At Easter this year our Kroger was only selling an off brand which had wayyyyy too much fat for me. So I purchased the Smithfield at Publix. By the time I actually went shopping it was late on Saturday afternoon and the pickins' were slim. The ham was not the best, seemed to have lots of grisle and the texture wasn't quite right. NOW to my question...I'm having guests in a few weeks and want to serve ham from the BGE. Do you think I just got a "bad one" at Easter or should I try another brand?

i think you got a bad one i have always bought my hams at publix and they have always been really good!!!

If you have a ALDI's there we buy the appleton ham, not to salty, never had a bad one either.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will go back with the Smithfield at Publix or Kroger. Maybe we need to check our thermometer. Wish me luck!
