second egg

I'm debating about buying a second egg. I have a large now and life is good, however, there are times when two would come in handy.
They are selling demo eggs at the Mid-west Egg Fest for $519.(with nest, charcoal, daisy top and scoop for coals) In August.
This is a pretty darn good deal in my opinion.
Any opinions would be welcome.[p]Thanks,
Mark

germanshorthair,
Is that for a large? If so, that is an awfully good price. However, you might also want to consider something smaller for your second egg, especially if you ever want to have the benefit of portability. I have a large, a small and a mini. The small probably gets the most use since I usually am cooking just for my wife and me. And the small is relatively easy to load up and take on a camping trip or where ever you might want to takt it. And, it would save you close to $200 over the demo. However, if you are looking for lots of capacity, a second large can't be beat.

germanshorthair,
I'm in agreement with SteveO, if it's a stay at home cooker, get the large at that price. I have a large, medium and mini plus a #1 "K" which it the same size as a small egg. My favorite is Mr. Large. It all depends on how you want to use it.[p]Regards,

SteveO,[p]Thanks for your input. That's what I keep telling myself-a smaller egg would be more practical, but for the price, its hard to beat. What is the going rate on a small?
$300?
It does seem that most egg owners have two of different sizes though.

germanshorthair,
I felt the need for a second egg and went with a small. Like Steve, most times I'm cooking for my wife and I and can use the small. Unless of course it's a pizza. But at that price, I might have been tempted with a large.

germanshorthair, I will probably be at the Midwest Eggfest. That is a great price since I inquired about a medium and was close to the same.
I'm still debating about buying my 3rd large. Two are really nice for me since I pre-cook alot for my customers and take to the Chiefs games and Kansas Speedway.[p]

germanshorthair,[p]We have both a large and small BGE as well Primo Kamado (equivalent to the large). Our second cooker was the small egg, primarily for it's portability. We've found we love it for so much now...it's a great addition! But, like you, we had an opportunity to get a large at Eggfest 2003 in Waldorf back in May and just couldn't pass it up at the price they were offering. You can't go wrong no matter what you do, but for the price you can get that large egg, you can almost get the small one too and not be out any more than if you'd bought it at the regualr price! I say get 'em both![p]QBabe
