Stoker upgrades

I just ordered a new stoker. I don't know much about the unit other than it has gotten great reviews. Stoker owners my question for you is what are some upgrades I should consider. One thing I would like to know more about is making the leads longer so I can keep it out of the weather. How do you do this? Also I have heard of stoker log, what is this. Anything else I should be thinking about?

You can make your own lead extensions.
Amir has computer software for the stoker as does forum member UnConundrum. UnConundrum's looks pretty nice and has several times had his cook available to view on the forum.
Here is a Link that will take you to a lot of posts and Amir's software description & downloads.

The extension cords can be found at radio shack or Frys. They are the old 70's style headphone jack. The ones I have are 20 feet long.
The blower can't be extended by a jack. It has to be extended from the factory. They will make them about 8 feet long.
Stokerlog is great. Look for the program Timers, too.

The Stokers we are shipping now have LED's in the connectors of the sensors and blowers. The LED's in the blowers go on and off with the blower and are blue. The LED's in the pit sensor is red and will indicate alarm for that probe. The food sensors have green LEDs and are food alarm indicators. Now after I have hyped all that the Software for the alarms is not quite complete yet. We tested the LED part and it works but we decided we need to add the option to silence the alarm in the same release duh... The SW with all the new features will be available in a week or so.

Nice additions.
Will the new sensors work with the older controllers?
