Help with Spring Hinge for Small

I just received the new spring assist hinge for my small egg and I'm having a little trouble aligning the rear for a tight fit between the base and the dome. I know the issue has been been discussed previously about how to fix the problem, but I cannot locate the thread in the archives.[p]Can one of you be a real pal and give me a quick run down on how to correct the problem or point me to the thread that discusses this. Plans for a Trex steak weekend are on the adgenda and I really need to get this fixed before the meal goes on.[p]Many thanks

Bob,[p]We had the same problem at first. Mr. Hyde loosened everything, tapped it with a rubber mallet all around the edge where the ceramic meets the band, got it seated really well, and re-tightened, tapping with the mallet while tightening. Could see when the back tried to lift up, but just tapped a little more and it worked itself out. MUCH BETTER! [p]QBabe

New Bob,[p]Thanks for the kind words, but until I got my egg, I didn't realize my true culinary abilities...cooking was a chore, kind of like cleaning house and doing the laundry. But the egg has truely inspired me! [p]Margaritas on the rocks to ya!
