Cat's Babybacks Q?

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Hey all!
I am going to try my first racks of babyback ribs this weekend and have decided on Cat's babybacks and Ginger Mahogany recipe's!!
They both sound delicious!! My Q is I can't find Black mustard seeds here in Cleveland. Can I use ground yellow mustard seeds instead??
I do not know anything about spice's yet ,but Im reading ,learning and experimenting!! Whooo Hoooooo!!

Carrera85,[p]Looks like YB answered your mustard seed question. So...[p]You may have seen the "handle" thread below. I have to ask are you Barbara Carrera or perhaps the owner of a 1985 Carrera?[p]You'll like those ribs I've done NB's Ginger Mahoganey style many times though I use a store sauce - they are great. Never done Cat's though I know they get a lot of high praise on the forum.[p]Keep em Smokin,

Carrera85,[p]I've made Cat's spice paste babybacks many times. Narrin's Asian spice stand inside West Side Market has both Juniper berries and black mustard seeds.[p]K~G

    Carrera85,
    Vroom. Vrooom!!
Now that is an automobile.[p]Brown mustard seeds are readiy available, and are a good substitute for black. They have a great deal more flavor than yellow mustard seeds. That said....Cat's recipe will still be very good with yellow mustard seeds.[p]Have fun with the ribs, and please report back with your results![p]Beers to you. Cold ones!
