I enjoy the green egg very much, and every weekend i fire it up
for both days. I was wondering if any one knows where i could get
a cast iron grate to replace the original? The current grate is
18" in diameter.
thanks
Bob

    Bob,
Welcome! We already have another Bob posting with that name, so it would be a big help if you picked another handle to use here. Like Julie, I too wonder why you would want a cast iron cooking grate. The BGE grate is awesome, and I have never had food stick to it. The weber makes a great second grate.[p]Some particular reason you need cast iron??[p]NB

Bob,[p]I haven't heard of anyone that makes a cast iron replacement grate for the BGE. If you are looking to create the deep sear marks on your cooks, I use a cast iron habachi grill plate. Heat it well in your Egg on the stock grill and sear directly on it.[p]Welcome to the forum and Egg family of ever learning cooks. You (accidently) posted using a forum handle that has already been taken :-}. This has caused some confusion and may have limited the responses you will get. Choose another forum name and do come back often.[p]I do hope we have helped.[p]Spin

    Bob,
After you see the post of the steak that Nature Boy did on a steak you will NOT want a different grate. It was truely Grill Art. Show him Nature Boy[p]MAC
