Suggestions for temporary stand/nest large egg?

i'm looking for recommendations for a temporary stand so i can go ahead and start using a large egg. i say temporary because i plan on eventually building a table with wheels, shelves, etc.

i don't want to just perch it on cinder blocks as it could be knocked over.

i was thinking about getting a couple of treated 2x4s and experimenting but i'm sure there are better srchitects/engineers out there than i!

I keep my large on two cinder blocks with a paver on top of them. This looks OK, was cheap, and is very stable. I find it puts the Egg at a good height for cooking for me. My 90 lb dog is always running around that area, and the Egg has never moved. I also eventually plan to build a table, but this 'temp' solution has been in place for a few years with no issues.

This is my travel setup for my small and would be fine for a large if the size was bumped up a bit. A nice stable base and legs attached to a little table top will do the trick until he's in his perminent digs. I put the feet under it to stop a massive heat transfer to the wood. I did some steaks this weekend at 500* and the wood didn't even get warm. NOTE: take measurements with the dome open as the hinge moves downward when opened. This built took just over an hour with no plan before I started. Good luck and get cookin :woohoo:

my large has been sitting on a round patio paver, with three bricks under that, for about 5 or 6 years. hasn't tipped yet. there should be one foot in the back, two in front, all equally spaced. the egg won't tip with one foot in the middle/back

i guess i'll be OK with the cinder blocks and paver. i'm concerned about my dog knocking it over but maybe if i position it against a wall i'll be OK.

do i need to get a cover for the egg on the temp stand or will it be OK exposed for a couple of months?

The egg is fine exposed.
I have a cover that I was given as part of the package and yes, it's still in its package.
The only vulnerable part is the cast iron daisy wheel - mine lives inside the egg with the ceramic cap keeping everything dry.

(btw my tiled Kamado didn't like the climate and it collects rainwater)

I'm in the UK which has a hard winter climate because of the continual freeze / thaw cycle but others here have eggs in many climes including extremes.
