BTW, your backyard scenery was outstanding. We first visited northern Georgia last fall and loved it! Spent the night in Blue Ridge.

you know, up here in the land of "must-have-perfect-lawn"-itis, we rarely see toads and the little critters anymore. i don't have a perfect lawn, so we have bugs and worms and stuff for birds and toads to live on.

but i never have seen a frog like that.

looks like you have water near you, since that little guy is obviously not a toad. pretty cool

my camp on sebago is frog central,bulls, leapards, peepers, but my house on forest lake has practically no frogs, the bull frog in my pic is one of the few ive seen there in the ten years ive lived on forest.

when we moved in, i asked my neighbor how he got his lawn to look so perfect. he said "chemicals. lots of chemicals".

maybe your toads are missing cuzza all the acid rain from your anthracite stove. hahaha

Well no flowers blooming here :( just dandelions and the wild cherries... and these were not cooked on the egg... but fresh clams just can't be beat!! one of the guys Neil works with went digging with his grandson and had to many. dropped these off at the house for us:) did them in white wine with a ton of garlic and added just a touch of garlic to the butter for dipping. the broth was wonderful for rinsing them before dipping in the butter....but they were nice and clean and hardly any grit at all.

That is an American Green Tree frog - distribution:


We often see them on windows - they have suction-cup type feet and can walk up glass, walls, trees, etc.
