Yet another mini vs small green egg
I bought a cookshack elite electric smoker a couple weeks ago. the food cooked on it is good but it just doesnt have the charcoal taste and bark on it. it also has a little too much of a wet smoke taste to it. i like moist tender food but i think it over doest it. makes it plainly taste wet.
also, my cookshack is rated at 20 to 25 pounds of food, its too big. i cook for 4 people tops when i have company, 2 people most of the time (me and my lady).
it has a 30 day money back guarantee, i intend to send it back.
so i am looking at the small or mini. i do enjoy brisket, ribs, long slow cooks almost as i enjoy fast grilling steaks, chicken etc.
maybe that rules out the mini? can i do ribs on the mini? maybe a small cut of brisket? doesnt look like it unless i have to keep reloading probably every hour or two.
im leaning towards the small.

With the information you provided, if you possibly can spend the extra money and get a large, if not then a medium. That extra space will be appreciated in the future.
If the decision is between the mini and small you need to get the small. It will take a lot of work to get a Low and Slow cook on a mini.
Most of the time there is just the 2 of us. I use the mini the most and the large the next. My medium and small don't get used much.
I love the mini and use mine a lot, but not for a only egg. I can cook almost anything I want for the wife and I as well as for 2 or 3 under 12 grand kids.
You will love the egg.

I'm with Grandpa, get a large...or at least a medium.

I agree with GG especially if you like doing slow cooks like brisket, Butts and Ribs. There is a lot of versatility on the large and can be configured to cook much more if you ever wanted to.
The Large is the most popular size because of its versatility and possible configurations. If you look around on this forum you will see the different sizes being used. It will give you some idea of the potential for the large. I have a XL and a large and there only three of us. I would not want a smaller Egg than the large if it were to be my only one.
It is a little more money but it will be the last Grill you ever buy. I should say the last brand chances are you will use it so much you will end up with more than one Egg. You will not find any better customer support with any other grill and they have a lifetime warranty. This forum is a great benefit to being a Egg owner, A lot of experience here.
This is a post from a week or so ago that will give you an idea of the potential of the Large. Some of the loaded grills are extreme but notice the ones with the sides and the whole meal being cooked on the Egg. Good luck on your decision.

Between the two you've mentioned...the Small...without a doubt!
EvansI spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!! -
The smallest I would go with your scenario is the SMALL. Good Luck!
An electric smoker? What made you go that direction to begin with? Just curious. This is the greatest signature EVAR! -
Each grill will fill a gap in your cooling. I like the MINI to char peppers and onions for salsa and roasting garlic. I also use it to cook for myself when the family is out of town. Now the Small is the grill of choice for my wife, she loves to cook with her small. And for the record we also have 2 LBGE as well.
At the end of the day if I had to have only 2 it would be the large and the small.
